We are extremely proud that from 1st May 2025, Birchall Tea is served on board British Airways flights and in its lounges worldwide. As we celebrate the beginning of this exciting new chapter, we’re proud to share how this collaboration is already elevating the tea experience for millions of travellers.
Championing British originality
British Airways has gone to great lengths to make sure it’s made the right choice for its customers – with Birchall chosen for its performance in blind taste testing, as well as its British roots and sustainability credentials.
British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, Calum Laming, said: “Last year, we served more than 37 million cups of tea in the air, and more than 2 million cups in our lounges globally, so we knew that selecting our newest tea partner was a decision we had to get right.

Customers travelling with British Airways can enjoy an exclusive selection of specialty teas in different lounges, expertly curated to elevate their experience at al-tea-tude. Among these is Birchall Great Rift English Breakfast tea, which boasts an unrivalled bright and brilliant notes, making it the UK’s most-awarded tea for taste*. As part of the award-winning tea menu, other variations also include relaxing Camomile, warming Lemongrass & Ginger, and refreshing Red Berry & Flower.
Brewing something special together
A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of hosting a special tea tasting and factory tour for the British Airways Concorde Lounge team, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how we craft our award-winning blends. To mark the launch on 1st May 2025, customers in British Airways’ Heathrow lounges were also treated to complimentary Birchall Tea collection boxes and tea caddies with our flagship Birchall Great Rift Breakfast Blend. This is just the beginning of a beautiful collaboration, united by a shared passion for excellence, heritage, and the perfect cup of tea.
